Transition metal-doped chalcogenide glasses for broadband near-infrared sources
In this paper we report the spectroscopic data for samples of 0.031% iron, 0.017% nickel, 0.01% chromium and 0.017% cobalt (molar) doped gallium lanthanum sulphide (GLS) glass. Photoluminescence (PL) with a full width half maximum (FWHM) of around 500 nm and peaking between 1120 nm and 1460 nm is observed when excited using wavelengths of 850 nm and 1064 nm. The emission lifetime for nickel-dop...
متن کاملNear-infrared luminescence of RbPb2Cl5:Bi crystals.
A wideband near-IR (NIR) luminescence centered at 1080 nm was found in a RbPb(2)Cl(5):Bi single crystal grown by the Bridgman technique. Absorption, luminescence, and excitation of luminescence spectra were investigated at room and cryogenic temperatures. The luminescence was proposed to be due to the (3)P(1)-->(3)P(0) transition in Bi(+) ion.
متن کاملPreparation and luminescence of bulk oxyfluoride glasses doped with Ag nanoclusters.
Bulk oxyfluoride glasses doped with Ag nanoclusters have been prepared using the melt quenching technique. When pumped in the absorption band of Ag nanoclusters between 300 to 500 nm, these glasses emit a very broad luminescence band covering all the visible range with a weak tail extending into the near infrared. The maximum of the luminescence band and its color shifts to the blue with a shor...
متن کاملNear-infrared luminescence of rare earth ions in oxyfluoride lead borate glasses and transparent glass-ceramic materials
Oxyfluoride lead borate glasses singly doped with Nd3+ and Er3+ ions have been studied before and after thermal treatment. The orthorhombic PbF2 crystallites are formed during thermal treatment, which was evidenced by X-ray diffraction analysis. Near-infrared luminescence spectra at 1.06 μm and 1.53 μm have been registered for samples before and after annealing, which correspond to the main F3/...
متن کاملInfrared broadband emission of bismuth-doped barium-aluminum-borate glasses.
We report near infrared broadband emission of bismuth-doped barium-aluminum-borate glasses. The broadband emission covers 1.3microm window in optical telecommunication systems. And it possesses wide full width at half maximum (FWHM) of ~200nm and long lifetime as long as 350micros. The luminescent properties are quite sensitive to glass compositions and excitation wavelengths. Based on energy m...
